Rotterdam reaffirms importance Austria

December 2 2009, Port of Rotterdam
As from December 1 the Port of Rotterdam Authority and Mr Franz Zauner, the Rotterdam Representative for Austria and Slovakia have renewed their contract.

This reaffirms the importance of these countries for the port of Rotterdam. Zauner is representing the port for almost six years now and operates from Baden bei Wien.

Optimal support
Rotterdam is Austria’s most important seaport for eleven years now, but sees the competitors come closer. Zauner: “Especially in this difficult economic period, the choice of the most optimal seaport is of great importance for our foreign trade and logistic service providers. I am glad, and proud, that my relationship with Rotterdam continues. Together with my colleagues of the port authority and the companies active within the port I will keep supporting the Rotterdam related wishes and needs of the customers in the most optimal way. I am available as a first contact for any port related question and problem, but also for new cargo and projects. For example biomass or LNG and new train shuttles such as recently started with Salzburg.
Austria has substantial meaning for Rotterdam and its, Central European, hinterland strategy yesterday, now and in the future.
