Location container transferium final

July 3 2009, Port of Rotterdam
The town of Alblasserdam – east of Rotterdam – will get a Container Transferium (CT).The founding agreement was signed on Monday June 29 between the Dutch Transport Ministry and the Port of Rotterdam Authority (PoRA). The ‘Binnenlandse Container Terminals Nederland’ (BCTN) will operate the terminal. Total costs for acquiring the land, a special berthing area and the superstructure are estimated €38 million. It is planned to open by the end of 2011.
