Welsh scallop fishing ban to protect habitat and stocks

Dredging for scallops is to be banned in several areas off the Welsh coast in a move aimed at protecting stocks, marine species and habitats. The new regulations will come into force on 1 March, Rural Affairs Minister Elin Jones has announced.
